Was passiert mit dem Film im Labor? - filmstop.ch

What exactly happens to my film when it arrives at your lab?

1- Film is removed
Once your film arrives at our lab, we carefully open the film canister (in complete darkness), pull out the film, and prepare it for development.

2 - Development
Depending on the film type (e.g. C‑41 for colour film or black and white process), it undergoes a chemical process that makes the exposed images visible – directly on the negative strip.

3 - Drying
After development, the film is gently dried to prevent water spots or scratches.

4 - Scan
We digitally scan your negative using professional scanners. You'll receive your images as high-resolution JPEGs (3000px) digitally as a download to your email inbox.

5 - Prints (if ordered)
If you've ordered prints of the entire film, we'll print your photos on high-quality photo paper in the desired format. And importantly, in this case, you'll automatically receive your negatives.

6 - Negatives
After development, we do not keep your negatives with us. They are destroyed. If you would like us to return them to you, please mention this in the notes field in your shopping cart when placing your order. We cannot guarantee that your negatives will still be available after development.
